Are you a creative, entrepreneurial women who've suddenly found yourself without a clear plan or focus? Are you seemingly very busy, but somehow not achieving very much, and, certainly not doing the passion project you really want to do most?
There are days when it seems as if you're going round in circles, clicking open your social media in the hope to find the answer. The answer to what to do next, or how to generate what you're looking for.
Are you looking for:
- The next profitable idea?
- Your next ideal client?
- A different business model that gives you the freedom you desire?
All this click-clicking on social media, opening new tabs, browsing, reviewing what everyone else is doing, and emailing more than creating good content isn’t really helping you be productive. In fact at times it can be a form of hidden procrastination.
Mind-less rather than mindful action and research leads you down paths you most likely don't want to go.
The next time you find yourself idly searching social media, ask yourself:
- What am I doing?
- Do I know what or who I’m actually looking for?
- Is this the best action to help me achieve my goal?
Note down what your response is, to give you a clue of your motivation behind your search.
There are days however, when it may seem as if you’re in a low-level automated state, going through the motions but never quite consciously getting much done, and you don't quite know why, because everything on the surface is 'a-ok'.
Sometimes the meandering back and forwards on social media, can be a clue that you’ve lost sight of your bigger picture, you’ve forgotten what your exciting mission and vision looks like. The outcome you really want to achieve, that you’re in business for in the first place.
So, look a little closer. Listen in to what you're really feeling about what you've got on your to-do-list. Ask, what’s really getting in the way of you achieving what you’ve set out to do?
Whatever it is, you have to find out why. Make time to pull out your existing plan and check for resonance. Ask yourself:
- How good does this plan feel to me right now?
- How excited am I by this vision?
If the answer is, ‘not very’, then perhaps it’s time to refresh what you’re doing and learn the real reason why!
Getting a fresh perspective can bring back your focus at times when you feel like you’ve somehow lost the plot.
Taking a refresh, can help you feel energised and excited by what’s ahead of you, and how you’ll be spending your every day.
