As entrepreneurs & women in business, our week & daily planner is never the same twice, & that's how we like it, mostly.
In the early days of creating a new product, and working for ourselves, we relish in the variety that comes with playing with ideas, exploring thoughts, meeting people who inspire us. Working from a variety of locations, and solving a different challenge every day.
We go to our favourite coffee shop or co-work space, laptop in hand, absorbed in the excitement of the freedom we feel knowing we're working on our ideas and dreams. The buzz is greater than any caffeine or health shot we choose to drink.
What throws you, are days where the variety of tasks (& choice) can sometimes leave you spinning, & you seem to lose your balance.
You find yourself looking at the laptop momentarily, and wondering, 'what am I supposed to do now?', 'what should I do next?'.
For all this flying up into your imaginations and vision space has meant you've somehow lost the feeling of being grounded, and forgot to check in on your original plan.
If you've found you've somehow switched off all the self-care practices & planning tricks & tools you know are usually good for you – it's time to get back on track.
First, ask yourself:
- What is stopping me doing what works well?
- What has got in the way of me maintaining the habits that usually keep my schedule laser-focused.
Know what is getting in the way of you taking good care of yourself & keeping your business floating while creating something new.
If you've given yourself free reign in your creative exploration phase, we sometimes want to rebel and resist when pulled back to the linear, left-brain processed work we have to do. We'd rather linger in the imagination-space longer, than get back to the admin books.
Is there a hidden belief being stored, that if you spend time again on the paperwork, you'll lose your creative spark, never to get back to that juicy place, where your ideas are ripe & alive?
As creative thinkers, you're going to LOVE the early stages of any new idea or design, but may feel drained when it comes to focusing back on the practical parts of business. But, having that strong business foundation and consistent business action is going to give you a platform ready to launch what you're working so hard to create!
If you can, build a team around you who can let you be the creator maker / designer / writer – & they take care of the other roles.
But, if you're not in that position yet, remember that you must carve time out to create for sure, and be mindful of the small things you can do to keep your income flowing. It'll mean you've a business to come back to when you're back from your visionary creative space.
Book a 30-Day Wild Women Do Refresh program if you need my help to have the mindset and planning or resource systems needed to make time to create your inspirational product, and continue to have a business that succeeds.
